The implementation cycle is the structured process of taking a business live on Odoo: understanding the requirements, configuring the modules, importing data, training the users, and going live. The "Implementation Cycle" lesson lays out these phases before the course drills into each area.
The Accounting section walks through the full cycle the way a user runs it: the dashboard, setting up Customers and Vendors, and the Accounting Cycle itself -- from invoices and vendor bills through to payments and reconciliation.
The CRM cycle is how a deal moves through Odoo: a lead arrives, is qualified into an opportunity, progresses through the pipeline stages, and is finally marked won or lost. A won opportunity hands off cleanly to the Sales module.
The Sales cycle takes a customer order from quotation to confirmed sales order, then on to delivery and invoicing. Odoo links it to Inventory for the delivery and to Accounting for the invoice, so one confirmed order drives the whole downstream process.
The Purchase cycle flows from a Request for Quotation to a confirmed Purchase Order, and then to a Vendor Bill once the goods are received. The section also covers Purchase Agreements, approval rules for large orders, purchase alternatives, and product and vendor warnings.
Inventory is the largest section of this course, with 21 lessons. It starts with the structure -- Warehouses, Locations, Operation Types, and Routes -- then moves through Drop-Shipping, Putaway Rules, Packages, product setup, Units of Measure, Lots and Serial Numbers, Reordering Rules, Landed Costs, Scrap, Consignment, transfers, adjustments, and reporting.
They are the tools that let you trace stock. A serial number identifies one single unit; a lot number identifies a batch of units that share an origin. Expiry tracking adds shelf-life dates, so Odoo can warn about or block expired stock -- essential for food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.
Landed cost is the extra cost of getting a product into your warehouse -- freight, insurance, customs, and handling -- added on top of the purchase price. Odoo spreads those costs across the received products so that your inventory valuation reflects the true cost of the goods.
